In 1995 Dr. Kenneth Lipstock became the first surgeon in Virginia to perform LASIK. Dr. Lipstock has performed LASIK on patients from across the United States and Canada.
Dr. Kenneth Lipstock has the very unique distinction of being trained abroad in LASIK by Luis A. Ruiz M.D., the inventor of the microkeratome that made LASIK possible. Dr. Lipstock then went on with Dr. Ruiz to found the International Center of Refractive Surgery where they trained surgeons from across the United States in advanced LASIK techniques. The years spent learning from and teaching with Dr. Ruiz, the father of LASIK, have provided Dr. Lipstock with an in-depth knowledge of the LASIK procedure and a masterful surgical technique.
Dr. Kenneth Lipstock is also an accomplished Cataract Surgeon. He is one of the only surgeons in Central Virginia to routinely perform the most advanced technique known as No Needle -- No Stitch -- No Patch Cataract Surgery. Thus the patient can see immediately, even before leaving the operating room!
Dr. Lipstock also cares for many patients with Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration and Diabetic Retinopathy utilizing laser surgical treatment when necessary. Dr. Lipstock is always available for his patients before, during, and after surgery.
