Dr. Lipstock was one of the first surgeons in the United States and the first surgeon in Virginia to perform the LASIK procedure; he was also the first in the Richmond area to perform and offer the most advanced LASIK technology available, Intralase. Dr. Lipstock’s approach to cataract care has opened doors for thousands of Richmonders who were once too scared to undergo cataract surgery by offering the most advanced form of the procedure known as No-Needle, No-Stitch, No-Patch cataract surgery. He was one of the first surgeons in Virginia to utilize lasers as a primary treatment for glaucoma which has been proven to be a safe, effective and convenient alternative to using eye drops. Dr. Lipstock is involved with his patient’s course of treatment from the initial exam to the very last post-operative appointment. He is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Medical & Surgical Services:

Dr. Lipstock received his Medical Doctorate degree from the Medical College of Virginia, where he also did his specialty training in Ophthalmology. Dr. Lipstock has been Board Certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmology since 1986 and has been in private practice in Richmond ever since. Dr. Lipstock is one of the only surgeons in Central Virginia who routinely performs the most advanced form of cataract surgery known as No-Needle, No-Stitch, No-Patch cataract surgery. With this technique deep intravenous sedation and a needle injection is not needed, thus various complications are avoided and patients remain awake and comfortable and go home alert and without an eye patch. Dr. Lipstock was one of the first surgeons in the United States and the first surgeon in Virginia to perform LASIK. Since then he has performed thousands of successful LASIK procedures. Dr. Lipstock has dedicated his professional life to providing his patients the safest and most state-of- the-art medical and surgical treatment of their eyes. Dr. Lipstock specializes in the following procedures:

LASIK: An outpatient laser procedure used to eliminate or greatly reduce the need for eyeglasses and contacts. Not all LASIK is the same! It is safest and most accurate when performed with Intralasik, a 100% all laser treatment, and when the surgeon is available 24/7 before, during and after the procedure as Dr. Lipstock is. Because the effect of LASIK almost always lasts forever, LASIK is one of the best investments an eyeglass or contact lens wearer will ever make!
No-Needle, No-Stitch, No-Patch Cataract Surgery: This technique of cataract extraction is unique in that it is performed without the use of painful injections, stitches, or eye patches. This procedure allows patients to resume daily activities immediately. Dr. Lipstock also uses certain techniques to help decrease or eliminate his cataract patient’s need for eyeglasses.
Glaucoma Laser Therapy: Dr. Lipstock was the first surgeon in Richmond to utilize this incredible technology as a primary mode of treatment for most of his patients with Glaucoma. This two-minute procedure performed in our office is painless, safe and is a more convenient and less expensive alternative to glaucoma treatment with eye drops. The laser is utilized to treat the drainage system of the eye known as the trabecular meshwork. Treating this area of the natural internal draining system is designed to improve the outflow of fluid from the eye, thereby lowering the pressure inside the eye.

Appointments:
Lipstock LASIK & Cataract Center makes every effort to schedule appointments with minimal patient wait-time. However, as with any medical practice, emergency patients may inadvertently cause wait time to increase. In this circumstance, we will do our best to keep you informed and we will be happy to reschedule your appointment to a more convenient time. If Lipstock LASIK & Cataract Center needs to reschedule your appointment due to an emergency, we will notify you as soon as possible.

Insurance Participation:
Lipstock LASIK & Cataract Center strives to participate with all of the major insurance plans. Please call our office to verify our participation with your insurer prior to your appointment.
